CATRINA COSTUME AND MAKEUP: ORIGINAL COSTUME FOR HALLOWEEN
Dear lovers of creative parties,
It’s very very close to one of the most fun parties of the year: Halloween. DIY party enthusiasts especially like this, because it’s entertaining to create a fun, spooky environment. But for us the best part is creating a new costume each year, something amazing to try out for the first time and to wear when going around the houses ‘Trick or Treating’.
This year, we have created a very simple, but popular costume: La Catrina.
La Catrina is the main figure in the Festival of the Skulls and the Day of the Dead, celebrated every year in Mexico. The character also bears a striking resemblance to the images used by Tim Burton in his ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’.
Original Halloween Costume
The most striking part of this original Halloween costume, is the makeup, as it uses colours and designs that produce a very aesthetic, frightening result. We have also incorporated some clothing ideas to complete the Catrina 'look'.
Here, in this video tutorial, we show you how to develop this original makeup and disguise for Halloween, made with the collaboration of the young Beatrice and her amateur makeup artist friend, Amalia Varas.
We would like to invite you to SUSCRIBE to our YouTube channel where you'll find loads of videos with fun ideas for your parties.
To create the Catrina makeup and disguise, you’ll need very simple materials and a little bit of preparation.
